General Information and Pricing

SwordPlay Fencing Studio offers classes in all three fencing weapons (foil, epee, sabre) as well as theatrical (stage) combat weapons for film & television. The fencers at our studio range from Beginner to Advanced and range from ages 6 and up. Our competitive fencers continue to be a driving force in the United States Fencing Assocaition's (USFA) circuit, competing in all three weapons.

The sport of fencing is fun, challenging, and a great workout! Even if you are not a serious competitor, fencing is a great hobby.

How to Get Started:

#3. Pick a weekly class that works for your level and time schedule.
#4. Have fun!

First Free Lesson:
By appointment only, 818-566-1777. Instructs the student on how the sport of fencing works. Showing body position, posture, footwork, holding the weapon, targeting, attack, defense and information on the rules of fencing.

Open Floor:
Members are allowed to come in to the studio anytime during normal hours of operation and workout or fence with other SwordPlay members.

Membership:
Includes studio equipment, unlimited use of the facility during open floor times, electric equipment and classes ranging from beginner to advanced.

Class Membership: $95 for 4 classes per month, plus open floor.
Covers one class per week. Class size is limited.
$145.00 for 8 classes per month.
$185.00 for 12 classes per month.

Private Lesson Only Monthly Membership: $55
For students that do ONLY private lessons.
Open floor is also included.

Join-Up Fee: $163
4 private one on one lessons and the first month membership. The second month is prorated from the normal monthly membership.

Private Lessons: $27
(Foil, Epee, Sabre - 20/30 minutes) Lessons cover all aspects of fencing with emphasis on offense, defense, strategy, and technique. Semi-private Instruction Available.

Semi Private Lessons:
For more that one person 20/30 minutes long.
2 students $44
3 students $54

Stage Combat: $100 per month.
Consists of learning Tim Weske's system of theatrical swordplay. The system contains over 20 parries, exact footwork, and attention to detail. The system makes the possibilities of creative fight sequences endless.

Gift Certificates:
